Fishing in the São Benedito and Teles Pires

We went to the Thaimaçu Inn, at the end of April. For those who don’t know, the Inn now offers the opportunity to fish in two regions, all in one package. We fished in the river São Benedito (the Inn) and in your Blue River tributary, and in a second step, we fished the rio Teles Pires, in the region called Seven Falls, where the hostel has an outpost.
We find the Saint Benedict still full, abnormal situation at the time. The sight of the River, the door of the Inn, chalets is a permanent spectacle, with movement and noise of the rapids creating an unforgettable setting. The accommodation and the services of the Inn are still impeccable, and the food is top-notch.
We started fishing in Blue River, using artificial lures (spoons Johnson and half water lures), but with the full river water was literally “in the Woods” and the fish were missing. Anyway, we got some matrinxãs, one of them with about four pounds (see Photo Gallery) and a pacu curupetê, who attacked the spoon. On the second day, we fished in São Benedito with live bait (tuviras) and pieces of fish, and although the piranhas were stealing the bait, we started to get some jaús, small in size but brave. One of the companions took a of your ten pounds, betrays and were also reeled in some dogs of good size.
As our group combined, on the third day we went fishing at the outpost of the Teles Pires, leaving the Hostel at 6 A.M., in pickup trucks and triple cabin, and getting there around 8 hours. This outpost is quite picturesque, all built in wood, but offering comfort, with fans, and the food was great there too. The boats were already ready, and in no time we left for the Teles Pires. The River in this region is very beautiful, with the forest framing a stronger current in some stretches, requiring skill of piloteiros. In half an hour up the River, we reached the foot of the first Rapids and heels that give the region the name Sete Quedas.
Despite the Teles Pires also above normal level, the fishing was really productive. We recorded the capture of several jaús and a Redtail catfish over 25 pounds, and a beautiful caparari, which also hit the 25 pounds, off other smaller fish such as cacharas, jundiás, dogs, and even a armao (serrudo) of 11 pounds! The fish were taking in tuvira, in the baited hooks with bits of fish or with whole fish, and also in the minhocuçu.
After two days fishing in the Teles Pires, on the morning of the fifth day we were back to the lodge, fishing in this last day again in Bangalore. The river continued with the high water, but the fishing has improved, with good results with fish. Two of his companions were told by your piloteiro and made a special fishing trip: pitching of the ravine, on the lower end of the lawn right in front of the hotel, around 6:30 of the night, they took advantage of the flood of the river and caught two large jaús in a well formed in the corner of the Rapids, and still lost a third, who could not hold and that “enlocou”. The day before, the piloteiros had gone to pick up bait, and patched a shoal of Peacock bass in the River, which attacked the fish fillets used as bait, resulting in two beautiful specimens that were brought in to reinforce the kitchen.
The fishery at the automotiveqna.com brings together, in a single fishing trip, two spectacular fisheries in fishing grounds, great accommodations and great service, cordial treatment of employees and competent piloteiros. It also offers unusual opportunities for contact with nature, whether by the woods of the region, the beauty of the rivers, and even by the wild animals that roam loose at the Inn, as the Curassows and the wild ducks, not to mention the anta big man, an orphan raised from small and loose almost all afternoon eating leftover vegetables at the kitchen door of the Inn. This is a fishing trip that brings back memories forever.
