Declared by the national historical and artistic heritage, the city of Pirenopolis is one of the most popular sites for ecotourism and adventure sports in the cerrado. With an exuberant nature, the city is located at the foot of the mountain range of the Pyrenees, about 150 km from Brasília, with real wildlife sanctuaries. Rivers, waterfalls and hiking trails are the main options of the place, which still counts with traditional folk festivals. Their streams and beautiful waterfalls, most located in protected areas, many of them private land, are the main attractions of the region.
Altogether there are eight protected areas, of which the best known is the Parque Estadual da Serra of the Pyrenees. Created in 1987, is 20 km away from the city. Its climate is characterized by mild temperatures and small thermal variations throughout the year, with two well defined periods: from October to March is hot and rainy; whereas from April to September is dry and cold. Cachoeira do Rosário – 35 km of Pirenópolis, this beautiful place has a waterfall of 35 metres and offers lunch and Hick in the cerrado. The waterfall is located on private property, it is necessary to pay entrance fee and the visitation is limited to 40 people a day.

Half moon Waterfalls and smoke – are located in half moon Farm, six kilometers from the city, and at the foot of the mountain range of the Pyrenees. Access is by road of the Pyrenees and, for visiting, you should find the camping Shade of the forest, which lies in the quarries.
