Parks For Cycling With Children In São Paulo

Check Out The Coolest Areas To Teach Kids How To Ride Their First Rides Or Train Radical Maneuvers

The bikes never went out of style, but in the last year, with the expansion of leisure cycles-already reaching 149.7 kilometers-the bikes are super high. For the children, pedaling is one of the funniest jokes and, taking the “wheel” of support, a challenge celebrated in family.

At this stage, it is best not to take a chance on the roadblocks on the cycle paths defined by Bicyclebazzar, and rehearse the first pedals in parks. Even the most crowded green areas, such as the Ibirapuera Park, which pours on the weekends, have alternative schedules or quieter areas for the kids who are just starting out. The larger ones, on the other hand, will have plenty of room to do various maneuvers. Check out our selection, which includes eight parks:

Carmo Park

It has a 9 km bike path, and bicycles are only allowed within this route. It is usually empty even on Saturdays and Sundays. Just like the park, it is full of ups and downs, which can make it difficult for children to walk around. In addition to pedaling, it is still possible to walk quietly through the 200-hectare park, leaving the bike parked in one of two makeshift bike stands (at the main entrance and in front of the administration). Worth it: there are 30 species of animals cataloged and 4,000 cherry trees scattered around the place. Please note: there are no bicycles available for rent.

Parque Horto Florestal  – Arboreto Da Vila Amália

Only children up to 10 years of age can enter the park with a bicycle. The restriction of access creates an environment favorable to those who are still improving the art of pedaling. On Saturdays and Sundays, the movement is usually quieter in the morning.During the week, you can take advantage of the park at any time. Although they can not pedal within Horto himself, the elders do not feel like it. Right next to it, there is a green area reserved for cyclists.

The Vila Amália Arboretum has an ideal dirt bike path for teenagers and adults. For the more radical, ramps allow various maneuvers. Wooded, the region of 174 acres is quite pleasant. Because it is considered a conservation unit, it does not have a bike rack or bicycle rental.

Ibirapuera’s Park

The bike rack, located at gate 3, is open every day from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm (the last rental occurs at 7:00 pm), and charges R $ 5.00 per hour, but it is possible to negotiate this amount for a longer period. You must make a registration to rent-take RG and proof of residence the first time. 350 bicycles are available, 250 for adults and 100 for children. For the kids, there is also the option of bikes with wheels. In addition, there are front seats for up to 20 pounds and rear for up to 30 pounds.

The three-kilometer cycle route, which runs all over Ibirapuera, is quite crowded on the weekends, when around 500 people occupy the route _destas, on average 150 are children. During the week, the area is more traquila, with about 50 users per day, and ideal for the little girl who is learning to pedal. So the tip is to go from Monday to Friday in the morning. On Saturdays and Sundays, the kids run the risk of hurrying along the road, which can cause accidents.

Independence Park

There is no bike path, but guests can pedal in the lower part of the park, divided by Patriots Street. During the week, cyclists are hardly seen, but on Saturdays and Sundays the place becomes an attraction for the residents of the Ipiranga region. The tip, therefore, is to take smaller children from Monday to Friday. In addition, the area is not flat, which can hinder the beginners’ walk. There is a small bike rack in the parking lot, but only for users to leave their bikes. There is no rental service.

Attention:  Since the beginning of 2013 the number of cycling robberies in Ibirapuera has increased greatly. “With the popularization of the bicycle as a means of transportation and the existence of some models in the market that cost up to two thousand reais, they became the target of thieves around the park,” explains the Commander of the Metropolitan Civil Guard, Eduardo Bias . For him, the increase in record of occurrences of bicycle theft is seen as something positive. “Before, we did not have these data, which prevented us from mapping bicycle theft at Ibirapuera,” he says.

Bias also explains that the park area, which used to be 165 men, will rise to 180 next week, aided by surveillance cameras and reinforcement teams on Saturday and Sunday. In addition to containing theft, such teams are responsible for guiding parents who have lost their children and provide first aid in case of accidents. Also in March, GCM will operate, in partnership with the Secretariat of Green and the Environment, responsible for park management, a bicycle rack to be installed near gate 10. “The idea is that, in the future, similar facilities will be Built in the other sectors of the park to meet the visitor who wants to use his bicycle in Ibirapuera,”says the commander.

Youth Park

Good option in the North Zone. You only have to be careful during the course, because part of the floor of the cycle path is dirt. That is, it is harder for the little ones to keep their balance. It also has street and vertical skateboarding tracks for those who do not want to be alone on the bike. Rental bicycles are currently closed due to the change of command in the departments of Culture and Leisure and Environment. On Sundays, the movement is bigger, due to the cycle path of Avenida General Ataliba Leonel. For the kids, the ride is more quiet during the week, in the area near the playground.

People’s Park

Here the program is complete: those who already master the art can pedal to the place by the cycle path of the Avenida Cidade Jardim, which ends at the 1,200-meter bike path inside the park. There is no bike rack, but the rental program of Banco Itaú, Bike Sampa, has stations just in front. To use the service, just register on the site, for $ 10.00. Then, a mobile application releases the bike at the station. The same can be done by phone, calling the numbers.

Trips of up to 30 minutes are free, provided they are done at least 15 minutes apart. Those who stay more than 30 minutes with the bike pay R $ 5.00 every half hour of use.On Sundays, the place gets very busy, because of the cycle path. On these days, it is not recommended to circle with children who are still learning. But during the week and on Saturdays, the tour is quite quiet.

Vila Dos Remedios Park

It houses a bicycle lane, but is not recommended for children under 7 years. Not for the use of tinkers or bikes with plastic tires. But although the lane is all cobbled, the well-wooded path is pleasant. During the tour, those lucky enough to see ducklings on the lake and other 77 species of animals.

Villa Lobos Park

It is undoubtedly the best option for children to ride a bike in the city. The flat and paved floor facilitates the practice of sports on wheels. On weekends, the track is quite crowded. Therefore, pay attention to the safety of the small first-time sailors. The ideal is to arrive very early, when the competition for space is less. If you can leave the tour for the days during the week, better yet.

At the main entrance of the park, it is possible to rent a bike. For riding on 16, 20, 24 or 26 rims without running for one hour, the amount of R $ 7.00 is charged. With march, the bicycles of ring 26, incl. With basket and child’s seat, cost R $ 10,00 for the least period. It is also possible to rent bicycles for three people (R $ 25,00), two (R $ 14,00) or even a tricycle (R $ 10,00).
